The Virginia Association of Fairs Board of Directors welcomes young ladies, chosen in competitions among their peers from member fairs across the Commonwealth, to participate in the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs (Miss VAF) Scholarship Pageant every January. The Board's purpose in sponsoring the Miss VAF Scholarship Pageant is to select the young lady that best represents the values that Virginians hold dear. These include, but are not limited to, a nice appearance and presentation, excellent interpersonal skills, proven academic and personal accomplishments, and knowledgeable of a wide array of topics. The young lady chosen as the Miss Virginia Association of Fairs titleholder will represent not only the Association, but the fair industry, her fair, and her community. She will also serve as the official ambassador of the State Fair of Virginia. The Board's expectation is that Miss VAF be a responsible individual, whose desire is to contribute to the greater good through education, volunteerism and personal influence.
