Miss VAF 2020

Adrienne poole

Adrienne Poole, representing the Virginia-Kentucky District Fair, was crowned Miss Virginia Association of Fairs 2020 during the 103rd conference of the Virginia Association of Fairs at the picturesque Omni Homestead Resort on January 4, 2020. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky where she received a dual-degree, Bachelors of Science in Economics and Marketing. In recognition of her academic achievements, Adrienne earned the Dean's Excellence Award and she was a member of the University of Kentucky Leadership Development Program. She reactivated the Phi Beta Lambda business fraternity at UK where she served as President for three years. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Administration at Union College.

Adrienne has accumulated over 10,000 hours of volunteer service since 2011 when she realized the importance of giving back to her community. She volunteers weekly at the Lexington Detention Center where she is an instructor for the Jobs of Life program. She has also served as a Camp Leader for the Father Beiting Appalachian Mission Center and coordinated events for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, raising over $4,000. She has also worked closely with Wildcats for H.O.M.E.S., an organization focused on raising the bar for a basic standard of living and assisting the homeless population.

Inspired by a family member who received a lifesaving heart transplant, what started as Adrienne's community service initiative has ultimately become her life's work. As an employee for Trust For Life - a nonprofit organization supporting Donate Life - she educates communities on the importance of organ, tissue, and cornea donation daily, with the purpose for every community member to be a registered donor. As Miss Virginia Association of Fairs, Adrienne will continue to foster relationships, educate, and register donors across the Commonwealth.

As Miss Virginia Association of Fairs, Adrienne will travel across Virginia serving as the official ambassador for the Virginia Association of Fairs at many fairs and festivals in our Commonwealth.  She will also be the spokesperson for the Miss VAF community service program, "Read to Succeed" that, in just two years, has collected over 15,000 books. The Virginia Association of Fairs (VAF) serves its members through representation, education, information and direction which will enhance their productivity, economic viability and administrative capability, thus enhancing the economic growth, development, and quality of life of Virginia Communities.
